Yandex restores most functions of the Alice AI chat and smart devices; calls on Stations are still unavailable

Yandex's voice assistant and smart home have mostly come back, but some functions are still not working.

According to the company, as relayed by Vedomosti, the Alice AI chat has regained its "Expert" mode, text and image generation, file handling and the "Studio" section; on Stations, TV Stations and YaOS televisions the morning show, alarms, reminders, timers, weather, answers to questions, video playback and the app store are working, and smart-home control, Yandex says, works in full again. Still unavailable or unstable are calls on Stations, nearest-speaker detection, simultaneous music playback on several devices, fairy tales and the baby monitor, karaoke on TVs, and connection of partners' smart-home devices. The outage began on October 9 after damage to data centers in the Ryazan and Kaluga regions.
