The question of export controls on Nvidia chips has reached a discussion of its chief's connections; the company disputes the newspaper's conclusions.

According to The New York Times, citing people familiar with the surveillance, US intelligence agencies feared that a woman from Jensen Huang's circle, linked to the Singapore-based cloud company Megaspeed, could be helping the Chinese government obtain information, and noted the Nvidia chief's access to President Donald Trump. As relayed by The Decoder, Megaspeed was suspected of helping China get access to Nvidia chips, and its Malaysian sister company, per the newspaper, bought equipment with Nvidia chips worth at least $4.8 billion between June 2024 and February 2026. An Nvidia spokesperson, in a statement to CNBC, called Megaspeed one of its regional cloud customers and Huang's contacts with its representatives ordinary, since he talks to thousands of customers a year; customers, he said, do not get access to trade secrets or national security information. Nvidia calls the allegations of evading restrictions "investigated and debunked". The Chinese embassy called the report groundless slander, and Megaspeed, according to The Decoder, announced an internal review.
