Israeli company Lava reports 32 Nvidia B300 chips in systems linked to China Telecom, although US export controls bar their sale to China

The claim that banned chips were brought into China is so far backed only by one firm's report.

Lava says it found 32 Blackwell Ultra B300 chips in monitoring systems linked to the network of the state-owned operator China Telecom (AI Weekly, relaying The Information; the Information text is behind a paywall, per the feed description). The B300 is one of Nvidia's most powerful data-center chips, and US export controls prohibit selling it to China. The chips were found through publicly reachable Nvidia DCGM Exporter instances with no authentication: Lava's scan found about 2,100 such hosts with more than 12,000 unique GPUs at roughly 300 organizations. The information comes from a single firm.
