A case over circumventing export restrictions is moving forward in court; SI capabilities themselves are unchanged.

According to Reuters (as relayed by Investing.com) and Bloomberg, Ting-Wei "Willy" Sun, an outside contractor linked to Super Micro, pleaded guilty in federal court in Manhattan. In March prosecutors charged him and two others linked to Super Micro (including a co-founder) with conspiring to divert about $2.5 billion worth of US SI technology to China in violation of export rules. Under the indictment, servers with advanced Nvidia chips were sent to an unnamed company in Southeast Asia and from there redirected to Chinese buyers. The sentence and a full company comment are not given in the available materials.
