Siri AI begins performing actions in third-party apps in the iOS 27.3 beta

Apple's voice assistant is moving from isolated commands to linked tasks inside familiar apps, although the capabilities are currently available to developers in a preview release.

In the iOS 27.3 Developer Preview, developers can connect apps to Siri AI: the assistant uses the user's personal context, understands natural-language requests, and takes on-screen content into account. New "app skills" allow several operations to be combined into one action. If an app is open, showing a Live Activity, or already being discussed with Siri, users do not need to repeat its name—for example, they can simply ask to change the pickup address for an already booked ride. Similar capabilities have also been expanded in Apple's own apps, from Finder and Files to Calendar and Maps.
