Claude Enterprise merges chat and Cowork into one interface with cloud-based agent work

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

Enterprise Claude combines chat and cloud agent work, and spending is managed through Efficient mode, roles and limits.

On October 23 Anthropic made the unified Claude generally available for Enterprise plans: chat and Cowork work as a single interface on the web, on desktop and in mobile apps, and a conversation can start in chat and move on to agent work in the cloud; for Pro and Max the merger arrived in September. According to Anthropic, agent work runs in isolated virtual machines managed by the company, outbound network traffic is disabled by default for Enterprise, and connector credentials are kept outside the sandbox. Administrators get four tools for managing spending: Efficient mode (the unified interface runs on Sonnet and Haiku models), model entitlements by role, spend limits at the organization, group and member levels, and pooled group budgets. Pricing remains usage-based; according to Anthropic, Claude Opus 5.5 costs 40% less to run than Opus 5, and Sonnet 5.5 up to 30% less than Sonnet 5. Organizations using zero data retention for Claude Code, HIPAA-ready configurations or customer-managed encryption keys remain on their current configuration.
