In Russia, trucks with no driver in the cab are promised by 2028 — for now they run with a safety driver.

Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin said this at a plenary session of the State Duma. For mass adoption, the ministry intends to create a regulatory framework. According to RB.ru, in the "Unmanned Logistics Corridors" project, autonomous trucks from KAMAZ, Yandex and Navio are being tested on the M-11 Neva, the Central Ring Road, the M-4 Don and the M-12 Vostok highways; according to Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev in September, so far the focus is on Level 3 autonomy trucks, where a driver stays at the wheel.
