Google presents a study of AMIE, an SI system that takes a patient's history before the doctor's appointment

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

SI can take over the routine patient questioning so doctors have more time to talk.

In the study, participants could talk to AMIE before a visit to the doctor; every conversation was supervised by a trained physician. The system collected the medical history, asked follow-up questions tailored to the patient's situation and gave the doctor a short summary. According to the researchers, doctors say it helps them spend less time gathering information and more time discussing treatment with the patient. A larger study in the US with control groups is planned, along with an expansion to video and audio.
