Germany and Nvidia agreed to develop SI for factories together, and Nvidia is investing in German startups.

At the Invest in Germany summit, Chancellor Merz and the Federal Ministries for Economic Affairs and for Research signed a joint declaration with Nvidia: the parties intend to develop SI models for the physical world and expand cooperation with the Industry 4.0 Platform. Huang announced planned investments in Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo and Reflex Aerospace; according to Nvidia, this is part of its commitments in Europe of nearly $10 billion. Euronews reports that last week in London Huang warned that Germany is falling behind in the SI race, and that the government is preparing to commit hundreds of millions of euros, mainly to buying compute in Deutsche Telekom's Industrial AI Cloud on Blackwell chips.
