Huang: Nvidia "absolutely must" work with Chinese SI companies on monitoring risks

The head of Nvidia believes SI safety requires talking with China, not isolation.

According to CNBC, at a briefing in London on Wednesday evening Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang called SI "potentially dangerous" and said the company, the US and the UK should build dialogue with researchers in China: "We absolutely should work with each other so that we advance the technology safely." In his words, he himself holds dialogue with many Chinese researchers. CNBC recalls that Huang opposes tighter regulation of SI, and that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent discussed with his Chinese counterpart in September the idea of a US–China SI dialogue, including a channel for incidents "up to a national security level."
