Cloudflare releases open model Clef-omni that picks an answer from audio, video, images and text in one pass

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

A fast, cheap "chooser" for audio and video is available to everyone, not just large companies.

Clef-omni is a "decision model": it answers not with text but with a choice among given options, and accepts sound, video, images and text without separate speech transcription or video parsing. According to Cloudflare's blog, a text decision takes about 130 ms, an image about 150 ms and a 21-second clip about 1.5 s. Clef-omni costs $0.15 per million input tokens, and the smaller Clef-flash fell from $0.09 to $0.038. The model is available in Workers AI and released with open weights on Hugging Face.
