Russia's Supreme Court: five domestic neural networks in pilot mode learn to analyze court data

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

SI is coming into courts as an assistant: according to Krasnov, decisions and responsibility stay with the judge.

According to Interfax, Igor Krasnov, chairman of Russia's Supreme Court, said that five domestic neural networks are learning in pilot mode to analyze large volumes of court data, organize materials and search for needed information in order to reduce judges' technical workload. The models are trained on the top court's verified legal positions and Russian-language dictionaries; the process is overseen by the recently created Center for Judicial Competencies in SI. Krasnov stressed that digital assistants must not become digital judges — examining evidence, legal assessment and responsibility for the decision remain with a human.
