A startup someone tried to "take over" with a big deal has come back independent and with a lot of money, so SI agents remain an independent market.

According to TechCrunch, the round was led by Boyu Capital and IDG Capital with participation from Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund; the company has not officially disclosed a valuation, and the outlet reports talks at a $4 billion valuation. In December 2025 Meta announced a $2 billion acquisition of Manus; in April 2026, according to the outlet, Chinese authorities demanded the deal be cancelled over concerns about SI talent leaking to the West; in August Manus went back to operating independently. This is the first round since the unwinding; at the time of the deal, according to TechCrunch, annual revenue exceeded $100 million.
