The most capable models go to defenders, not only to their owners: SI cybersecurity capabilities are being opened up through vetted tiers.
The vetting program for cybersecurity professionals is divided into the tiers "defense" (incident response, malware analysis; applications are reviewed in days), "red team" (authorized penetration testing; organizations only, review takes weeks, actions leading to physical harm or mass outages are still blocked) and "special" (testing critical systems such as aviation and energy, together with the US government; Project Glasswing participants move into it automatically). Claude Opus 5.5, Sonnet 5.5, Mythos 5.1 and future models are available at all tiers. According to Anthropic, Glasswing partners found at least 129 thousand confirmed vulnerabilities from April to July, more than 33 thousand of them rated critical or high.
