Cloud provider Lambda is raising up to $4 billion before IPO; almost all order growth comes from Anthropic

Clouds built only for SI are growing on the back of a few huge customers: a single Anthropic order already determines the fate of an entire company.
Nvidia-backed Lambda is valued at $14.5 billion pre-round; the round is led by Coatue and Blackstone and is the last private round before an IPO in 2027. Its backlog grew from $15 billion in June to $50 billion in September, and a significant part of it is Anthropic's $35 billion commitment. The company recently closed another $1 billion in secured credit; other "neoclouds," CoreWeave and Nebius, are queuing up for IPOs nearby.
