Nexus Mods requires authors to disclose SI use but does not ban such mods

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

Players will be able to filter SI-generated mods and understand how a work was made, while authors will not have to hide their use of these tools.

For new uploads, authors must state whether SI was used; mods tagged as assisted by SI will require a public explanation of where and how it was used. Tags will become more prominent, and controls to hide SI content will appear on game pages and the homepage, followed by search. The platform's owner explains the decision not to impose a full ban by pointing to SI use at different stages of creation, from code autocomplete to textures and voices, and the difficulty of drawing a single boundary. Existing uploads must be brought into compliance within 60 days, by January 2. Nexus Mods also promises not to train SI on mods and not to sell or license them for such training.
