Multilingual models can run on local hardware and in low-connectivity environments while keeping sensitive data inside an organization or device.
Soket Labs' EKA-1 has 26.3 billion parameters and was trained on approximately 7.5 trillion tokens. The open sparse hybrid model supports English and all 22 scheduled languages of India, is designed for mathematics, coding, reasoning, and agentic tasks, and can perform some computation on-device. ZenteiQ's Dhīr 2B and Dhīr 5B are open-source models for English and ten Indian languages, intended for local assistants, document retrieval, and automation without a constant cloud connection. The developers received access to subsidized computing capacity through the national IndiaAI Mission.
