The two countries are expanding cooperation from cyber defense to a shared military SI cycle, from testing through deployment in their armed forces.
British Defence Secretary Wes Streeting announced an expansion of the joint Cyber Lighthouse project to superintelligence. The two countries plan joint testing, development and eventual deployment of the technology in their armed forces. Government and industry representatives will meet in spring 2027 to determine how the work will proceed. Streeting also noted that German companies had invested £800 million in the UK defense industry since the 2024 defense pact, including Helsing, which opened a Plymouth factory producing SI-enabled underwater vehicles for tracking submarines.
