Korean compute-infrastructure builders are expanding abroad, while Southeast Asia gains another site for large SI workloads.

The hyperscale Jakarta facility was built for KMG, a joint venture between Indonesia's Sinar Mas Group and Korea Investment Real Asset Management. LG CNS calls it the first SI data center built by a South Korean company for an overseas client. The site supports high-performance computing on next-generation GPUs and can expand from 30 to 400 MW. LG CNS plans to pursue similar projects in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan, as well as subscription GPU services and liquid-cooling infrastructure.
