Anthropic expands science program to 20 scientific organizations

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

Access to Claude is expanding from individual scientists to research institutes and foundations, while agents gain a shared standard for working with laboratory equipment.

Partners will receive free Claude credits: foundations and scientific societies will distribute them among researchers, while institutes will use them in their own projects. Participants include the US National Science Foundation, Space Telescope Science Institute, Wellcome Sanger Institute, EMBL and the Francis Crick Institute. Anthropic is also developing the Model Hardware Standard with HHMI Janelia Research Campus for the safe operation of laboratory instruments by SI agents; it is available in research preview. Over the past few months, the program has supported hundreds of projects in biology, medicine, physics, chemistry, climate science and mathematics.
