A mass-market carmaker is preparing a dedicated production chain to scale robotaxis.
Toyota will assemble the vehicles and integrate Waymo hardware at a single plant in Takaoka. After testing in Japan, the partners plan to expand to the UK and other Waymo markets; the vehicles target Level 4 autonomy.
