U.S. government customers get Anthropic's SI models at a discount, and the company, preparing for the stock market, is widening its base of government clients.
According to Anthropic, the 40% discount applies to Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API for federal agencies, state, local, tribal and territorial governments; there is no minimum purchase and payment is for actual usage. The company estimates government savings at $1 billion. About 500 government organizations already use Claude; according to Anthropic, weekly users of Claude for Government have grown eightfold since February and usage at federal civilian agencies has grown about 20-fold over a year. A pilot in Utah is given as an example: 34 developers from 10 agencies received Claude Code, and 71% of them reported saving more than 20 hours over four weeks.
