Comer demands documents from Delaware on a new type of company that SI agents could run

The dispute over who is responsible for the decisions of companies run by SI agents has reached a congressional committee.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer asked Delaware Governor Matt Meyer in a letter for documents on the state's plans to introduce a new type of legal entity, an "Artificial Intelligence Company" (AIC); Ars Technica describes such companies as ones that could be run by SI agents. In Comer's view, the proposal could help the owners of such firms escape liability for "reckless" actions by SI and shield "non-transparent forces" seeking regulatory capture. He suggested that after the inquiry the committee may propose a federal law limiting state-level regulation of SI.
