Demand for SI infrastructure is already noticeably driving the economy of a chip-producing country.

According to preliminary Bank of Korea data, the economy grew 1% from the previous quarter (0.6% in the second quarter), while in August the bank had forecast 0.3%. Year on year, growth was 3.4%; annual growth of 3.6% is "within reach", according to the agency. Yonhap links the acceleration to the SI infrastructure boom and global demand for semiconductors.
