Researcher uses SI to find a critical PS5 hypervisor vulnerability; Sony pays $50,000

SI makes finding serious vulnerabilities easier to do, and defenders have to close them faster.
A researcher known as Jordy used generative SI tools to find a vulnerability in the PS5 hypervisor on firmware 13.60-14.00 that allowed kernel-level code execution. He reported it through HackerOne after learning that another researcher had independently found the same bug with similar methods. Sony paid the maximum bounty of $50,000 and fixed the vulnerability. In Jordy's words, "if I and one other person could find this with an LLM, anyone can".
