Anduril and Qualcomm unveil BlueChip, a US-assembled laptop for government and defense

A defense contractor is taking on building computers with SI from its own and allied components to depend less on foreign supply chains.
The laptops run on Snapdragon X chips with on-device SI processing and are aimed at government agencies, defense departments and emergency services. Anduril will assemble the boards at its Arsenal-1 factory in Ohio; components from the US and allied countries make up more than 90% of the prototypes' cost, and working prototypes already exist. The company will start taking orders in 2027. Palmer Luckey acknowledged that in the near term such a laptop will cost more than one made in China, but expects US manufacturing to match on cost over time.
