Apple's office apps open up to third-party SI agents that will be able to work inside documents like a user.
The assistants, which understand the context of a document, run on a combination of Apple and OpenAI models; for now this is a beta, in US English only. Keynote, Pages and Numbers gain support for the Model Context Protocol: external SI agents will be able to read content, edit it and run actions (macOS 27 is required). Pixelmator Pro gets a Generate Fill tool driven by text descriptions. The updates arrive in November, and the Creator Studio subscription costs $12.99 per month.
