A large bank and four model developers are investing in SI training for small business; Solomon himself says frontier models are needed for few tasks.

On October 22 Goldman Sachs launched the Small Business AI Institute as part of a $500 million expansion of its 10,000 Small Businesses program; the partners are Anthropic, Google, Meta and OpenAI. According to The Next Web, Anthropic will run a learning series, hands-on workshops for alumni and joint research; Google will offer its Grow with Google AI Professional certificate to almost 20,000 small-business owners and employees, plus three months of Google AI Pro at no cost; Meta will provide tools and training through Muse for Small Business; OpenAI will hold workshops with the program's community college partners. Among surveyed alumni, 86% use SI in their business (56% in 2024), and 15% say it is fully built into their core operations (NBC News, The Next Web). CEO David Solomon, according to Fortune, said: "There's very little that we do where we need frontier models," and advises small-business owners to focus on return rather than speed of adoption.
