European SI data center projects are being built around access to electricity.

SWI Group (Amsterdam) has launched SWI Compute to build and operate Nvidia-based SI factories, starting in Europe; systems worth about $1 billion have been ordered. The first site in the UK will have 30 MW by the end of 2027 (about 7,000 Rubin GPUs and 3,500 Vera CPUs in Vera Rubin NVL72 racks), and the campus is to be expanded later to 530 MW. The group has 3.6 GW of power at 24 sites in Europe and the US. CEO Halil Mirakhmedov called energy "the primary bottleneck facing European SI infrastructure". By 2029 the company expects 2.3 GW; campuses are planned in Ireland, the UK, Denmark, Spain and Italy. The first customer is a US inference platform.
