Command of SI is becoming a criterion in decisions about roles and employment, according to the company's internal email as described.
According to an internal email obtained by 404 Media, Proton (ProtonMail and other services) told employees on October 26 that it will hold "re-interviews" about how they use SI in their work. The email says they are "consequential" and may lead to "changes in roles, responsibilities, and continued employment." The interviews are scheduled for November 4–11; they will be conducted by external assessors who "demonstrate strong SI capability." Not every employee will go through the process. Earlier, CEO Andy Yen interviewed more than 40 senior leaders in engineering and product. In the email the company acknowledges that the process "creates uncertainty" and says it needs "people who can translate SI's capabilities into better products, stronger execution, and new ways of working."
