SI tools make cybercrime more accessible, and police are already handling cases that involve them.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, seven suspects stole 8.2 million items of personal and internal data from more than 90 organizations, including hospitals, private academies and companies, since September last year. Police believe the group used SI tools to hack 60 targets; 38 organizations suffered losses, and the group demanded 360 million won (about $272,000) from them in total. The ringleader, a 32-year-old self-taught hacker, previously worked at a security firm running mock attacks; he has been referred to prosecutors.
