Big tech companies are reshaping their workforces in the middle of the SI race, and work inside them is changing faster than before.
Microsoft is offering voluntary exits with financial support to up to 60,000 employees in the US, UK, Canada and India, out of about 223,000. In a message to staff, chief people officer Amy Coleman described it as a chance to leave with payouts and career-planning resources. According to The Verge's sources, employees on the SI products, Copilot, CoreAI, Windows and devices, Xbox, finance and HR teams are eligible; the cloud and SI group and MicrosoftAI are participating in part. This comes a few months after Microsoft laid off 4,800 people, mainly from Xbox and commercial sales.
