Startup of former DOGE staff gets into Anthropic's internal systems in 12 hours using SI agents

SI agents cut the search for weak points in someone else's defenses to hours, and even leading labs are exposed through third-party services.

According to the Washington Post (relayed by TASS and Tech Startups), Cathedral, a company founded by former DOGE staff, used SI agents to gain access to part of Anthropic's internal systems in under 12 hours, through vulnerabilities in third-party sales and administration software. The access covered meeting transcripts, salary and job-offer information, Slack messages, and data from the sales, HR and IT departments. The research was carried out under a bug bounty program. Anthropic confirmed access to a "limited set" of systems and reported the case to federal agencies; it says the researchers did not reach customer conversations with Claude, model responses, proprietary code or weights, and that Cathedral overstated the national security implications. According to the Washington Post, a White House official called the speed of the intrusion alarming.
