Britain is preparing a budget bet on its own SI and on security; the specific sums will become known when the budget is presented.

According to The Guardian, Chancellor John Healey, ahead of his first budget, which will be presented on Wednesday, pledged to commit "hundreds of millions of pounds" to a "distinctively British" approach to SI. He called it the largest investment in guarding against cyber risks and the disruptive potential of the technology, promising new funding for Britain's AI Security Institute and other key institutions, as well as money for using SI "for good." Exact sums were not given.
