SI infrastructure construction is running into environmental procedures: Google had to stop work in Finland.

According to Fortune, Finnish authorities ordered Google to suspend work at data center sites under construction in Muhos and Kajaani: at the Muhos site, an estimated 250,000 trees were cut down before the environmental review was complete. Google did not respond to the publication's request for comment. In September the company announced plans to invest about €13 billion in Finnish SI infrastructure. Google already operates a data center in Hamina, Finland. The suspension is a regulator's order.
