Oracle is paying partners to promote its SI products, but how the payments work has not been disclosed.
At its Oracle AI World conference in Las Vegas, Oracle announced that over four years it will direct $1 billion to its partner network — consulting firms, software makers, cloud providers and resellers. The money will go to training and certification, test and demo environments, help for customers moving to the cloud, and sales support in the Marketplace. Oracle also changed Marketplace rules: partners' products will be able to accept more prepaid Oracle cloud credits, and prices can be agreed directly between developer and buyer; the marketplace is expanding to India and Japan. According to Mark Hura, president of Oracle's global field operations, partners extend sales reach and delivery capacity. Oracle did not disclose how the sum will be distributed, saying the terms depend on the program's rules.
