France and the EU are preparing the ground for robotaxis, but there are no dates or cities yet.

According to The Next Web, on October 23 Wayve, Stellantis and Nvidia, with the French government, announced a collaboration to launch fully self-driving cars in France and EU countries. Stellantis will supply L4-ready vehicle platforms, Wayve its SI driver, and Nvidia its Hyperion computer and sensor system, while Uber will connect its ride-hailing network. No launch dates or cities were named; local transport partners will first consult unions and city authorities. According to the publication, France's transport minister said the country will change regulation to speed up deployment while keeping safety and data-sovereignty requirements. The publication points out that the EU caps approvals at 1,500 fully self-driving vehicles a year.
