Youth group Design It For Us publishes a 2027 SI policy platform: the power to block dangerous models, independent testing and company liability

Young activists demand that Congress pass an SI law banning dangerous models, but for now it is only a proposal.

The platform, which the group shared first with Semafor, sets as its main goals preventing catastrophic risks, letting states pass their own laws, protecting against digital fakes, and pushing for design that helps and protects people. Among the must-haves: the government must be able to block the deployment of dangerous models, large SI companies must undergo independent testing, meet minimum standards and be liable for harm to people, and states must be left free to regulate. According to co-founder Zamaan Qureshi, the platform is based on feedback from more than 700 members across 40 states; the group calls on Congress to pass a law by the end of 2027. He also considers Anthropic's recently leaked bill insufficient.
