Nintendo Switch 2 hacked: an enthusiast shows a jailbreak through an old game, which he says was built with help from OpenAI's Codex

An SI coding assistant, by the author's account, helped crack the newest console, but how important this is remains unclear.
Modder pepsipu (Sammy Hajhamid) showed a software jailbreak, "ns2jb": a custom version of Mario Kart World with new characters was run on the console. According to him, OpenAI's Codex helped build it (The Verge). The exploit requires the game SmileBASIC 4 (another modder claims it is not necessary) and is "tethered": it has to be launched from the game every time the console is switched on. For most users the method remains complicated, and its significance is still unclear — the community is debating the scale of the consequences.
