Uber opens ChatGPT Work to more than 30,000 employees after a 1,000-person pilot

Prepared by Sintelligent with the help of SI. Published in SI: . Updated: .

A large company is moving all employees onto an SI agent, while trying to count the costs.

According to an OpenAI press release as relayed by PYMNTS and The Next Web, the agent for office tasks connects to Gmail, Google Drive and Slack and runs on GPT-6.1 Sol by default; Uber's engineers will keep using Codex. Employees will be able to prepare meeting briefs, make presentations, analyze data and complete tasks across several applications at once. The Next Web recalls the context: in August Uber's chief technology officer Praveen Neppalli Naga said the era of free spending on SI was ending, and the Claude Code budget was reportedly used up by April. Uber and OpenAI promise to share results as the rollout proceeds.
