1Password launches 1Password for Agents: an SI agent signs in to accounts with the owner's approval without seeing the password; it works with Claude, Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots and Grok Bot

Personal SI agents get a way to sign in to services without being handed a password, with the owner's approval.

When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it presents a unique digital key to 1Password, and the app sends the owner a request for approval; the agent neither receives nor sees the login and password. Integration with Claude appeared in July, and now Muse from Meta, Dots from OpenAI and Grok Bot from SpaceXAI are supported (Engadget). The company pitches it as a way to delegate booking, shopping and trip planning to agents without handing over permanent access to accounts: "an agent should be able to do the job without getting permanent access to everything behind the account", said company representative Aashish Tripathi.
