US Navy awards Applied Intuition a $25 million contract for an SI sensor-fusion system on five destroyers

The Navy is moving commercial SI perception from a pilot onto warships.
The Intelligent Perception System combines camera and infrared sensor data into a single picture for the crew, automatically warns of collision courses, records data for transfer ashore when bandwidth and security allow, uses it to retrain models, and receives over-the-air updates in service. It will first be installed on five Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, with possible expansion across the fleet. The outlet recalls the 2017 collisions of the destroyers Fitzgerald and McCain. Applied Intuition general manager Jason Brown called the DECK pilot "massively successful" and noted it was built entirely on commercial technology.
