Local authorities have again secured a data center's cancellation, and companies have to look for sites elsewhere.
Under an agreement with Loudoun County, Amazon withdraws its development plan, drops legal action, gives the county about 25 acres for community use, contributes $5 million to an affordable housing fund and, together with the county, will rezone the rest of the land for mixed-use development, mainly housing. County board chair Phyllis Randall said her goal was to keep data centers or infrastructure for them off the site.
