Canadian publisher Boréal ends its relationship with writer Thélyson Orélien after admitting SI was used in his novel

Publishers are starting to check whether a person wrote a book, but proving the extent of SI involvement is still hard.
The novel "C'était ça ou mourir" came out in March 2026; in September the account "Balance ton Claude" accused the author of extensive SI use, and on October 14 the publisher still defended the author for lack of evidence. On October 21, according to Euronews, after an external analysis and the author's refusal to cooperate further, Boréal said that new information indicates SI was used in the writing, although the author had assured it he had not resorted to it; the publisher will not reprint the book or publish new works by the author. The extent of SI use is unknown — the publisher will "probably never have a definitive answer." The author's position after the publisher's decision was not found in the sources checked.
