The body that elects Anthropic's board has added a physics scientist rather than an SI specialist.

The Long-Term Benefit Trust determines the majority of the seven seats on Anthropic's board. Stubbs fills one of two vacant seats; according to Fortune, he is the first physicist on the trust, was Harvard's dean of science in 2018–2024, took part in the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe, and sits on the advisory group JASON. Fortune notes that Ben Bernanke joined the trust in July, and in August Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar left it to become Anthropic's chief global affairs officer.
