Developers are adding SI to drone interceptors so they can act without contact with an operator.
According to Ildar Almazov, founder of the company Zashchita ot dronov (Drone Protection) (as relayed by Vzglyad, citing TASS), the SI-based Kashchei drone interceptor was shown for the first time at an exhibition in Moscow, in day and night versions. By his claims, the 5- or 7-inch aircraft reaches up to 320 km/h, stays airborne up to eight minutes at top speed, reaches an altitude of 4 km, and engages targets moving at up to 220 km/h; the 7-inch version carries a 400 g warhead. Almazov asserts that the system provides fully autonomous flight under electronic warfare conditions and is already used by private security companies and oil refineries.
