A European lab promises to open a large model and benchmarks for engineers; what will matter is seeing results, not plans.
According to Mistral, the company and Nvidia are connecting Mistral Large 4 (about 1 trillion parameters, 49 billion active) with the CUDA-X libraries, Nvidia Warp and Omniverse to speed up engineering simulation and build closed loops of "simulation, SI model training, design". The partners are preparing open datasets and benchmarks for physics models and for testing SI agents on engineering calculations (CAE) and chip design automation (EDA); the target industries are aerospace, automotive and semiconductors. Mistral promises to release the Mistral Large 4 weights in late October 2026.
