The next generation of Nvidia chips will soon be available to rent in the cloud, not only to buy.

According to Nvidia, A5X combines Vera Rubin NVL72 with ConnectX-9 network adapters for training, inference and reinforcement learning; general availability is next month, followed by expansion to Europe. Google Cloud plans to deploy up to 960,000 Rubin GPUs across several sites. The first customer named is the London startup Ineffable Intelligence (founded by AlphaGo creator David Silver); the advertising group WPP demonstrated an agent architecture on A5X. Google Cloud is also rolling out Nvidia confidential computing at rack level.
