Europe is attracting money for SI infrastructure, and the promised sums still have to be turned into data centers.

According to Euronews, at a forum in Berlin attended by about 200 business leaders, Amazon announced about EUR16 billion of investment in Germany, of which EUR4.8 billion is for expanding the AWS cloud, mainly data centers in Frankfurt am Main. The total commitments named at the forum reached EUR800 billion through 2028. Chancellor Merz, per the same source, urged companies to open industrial data to SI. The outlet describes the government's agreement with Nvidia the same day as a partnership with about 12 German companies, including Siemens, Audi and Black Forest Labs, with a federal government contribution in the "nine-figure" euro range.
