The in-car voice assistant starts to know your emails, photos and plans, but only if you allow it.
Google says Personal Intelligence with Gemini launched in Android Auto on October 20 and will come to cars with Google built in over the following months. The feature works worldwide except the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Nigeria, and connects Gmail, Calendar, Google Photos, Maps, YouTube and Search: you can ask, for example, "what gate is my flight at" or find a restaurant along your route. The apps stay disconnected until the user turns the feature on in Gemini settings, and it can be turned off at any time. It is available for personal accounts aged 18 and over; work and school accounts are excluded.
